Asset Types and Subtypes are used to group similar assets together. Asset types and asset subtypes have a parent child relationship. Asset subtypes are subcategories of assets within an asset type, used primarily for reporting. If there are variations among the assets of the asset type, you can use an asset subtype to group these variations. For example:
- Bus
- Minibus
- Low floor bus
- Double decker bus
- School bus
1. To create an asset subtype, click the Administrator Settings icon on the home screen
2. Click Assets
3. Click Asset SubTypes
4. Select New Asset Subtype
5. Add a name for the new asset subtype. In this example, we have called the new asset subtype "30t low loaders", and it sits as a child of the Low Loader asset type
6. Click Save when done.
7. Repeat the process for all further asset subtypes.
