Add a new Asset Status

To better manage an organisation's assets, a status can be assigned to each asset.  Examples of asset statuses include

  • Available
  • Inactive
  • Defective
  • Decommissioned
  • In Storage
  • Missing
  • Stolen

The above are examples only; an organisation can create and use whatever status values are best suited to its operation.  The following is the procedure to create a new Asset Status.

PROCEDURE

Note: Adding a location requires the user to access the Administrator settings of Assetminder.

1. Access the Administrator Settings  by clicking on the Tools icon on the home page .

2. Click on ASSETS icon

3. Click on ASSET STATUS icon.

4. On this page, the user can delete an existing status or add a new status.

5. To add a new status select the "+" icon.

6. This will add a new blank line below the last line.  Add a description and a code.  In order for asset with this status to be useable within Assetminder, the checkbox, 'AVAILABLE' must be checked.

7. Tick the 'PERMANENT' box to make the asset status change permanent excepting manual change. Tick the 'RETURN DATE' box to preset a specific time frame when changing asset status.

8. Click Save & Exit when done
