An asset association link is also called a parent-child relationship.
The child asset must be configured to the parent asset.
A PARENT (or Primary) asset may have child assets. However, it cannot be a child asset to any other asset.
PROCEDURE
1. Open the Parent asset and ensure the ‘PRIMARY ASSET’ is ticked.
2. Open the Asset that will become the CHILD.
3. Click on the icon (indicated below) to edit the asset information.
4. Click on the sub-menu button (three horizontal lines in the top, upper-left corner) and choose CREATE ASSET ASSOCIATION LINK.
5. This will open a dialogue box.
6. Search for the PARENT ASSET. Enter Reg number and click search.
7. Select the link icon on the right-hand side of the line with the parent asset details.
8. Confirm the parent / child association between these two assets, click YES.
If this has been done in error, click CANCEL.
9. To finish, clicks on the 'X' in the upper right-and corner of the dialogue box.
10. Hit save to ensure all information is saved.
