Stock Adjustment

This procedure to used to change the stock quantity for a part.  While in most cases, stock numbers are adjusted through the Stocktake procedure, there are times when the user needs to change the stock quantity.  The following is the procedure.

PROCEDURE

Open the stock record for the stock item concerned by clicking on the stock icon on the home page and locating the part.  Current stock quantities are shown along the bottom of the stock record.

If the stock is held in more than one depot, the stock details for each depot will be shown.

To make an adjustment, click on the EDIT QTY button (as highlighted below) for the part (and depot) required.

The STOCK ADJUST TRANSFER panel is then shown, as below.

The options available to the user are to either:

  • TRANSFER IN stock or;
  • TRANSFER OUT stock.

The user selects the TRANSFER QUANTITY line and enters the quantity and then checks the radio button to indicate that it is a TRANSFER IN or a TRANSFER OUT activity.

A reference can be added to this so that if a parts stock audit is being carried out at a later time, the reason for the transfer will be available.  This is an optional entry.

Having completed the STOCK ADJUST TRANSER, the user clicks on SAVE & CONFIRM, the stock record is updated and the procedure is complete.
